Minnesota state law requires that a licensed and registered Animal Chiropractor receive a signed referral form from the animals primary veterinarian. This is a quick process and only takes a few minutes of your time. It will allow Dr. Brittany to collaborate with your veterinarian on your animals health. This must be done BEFORE Dr. Brittany can adjust your animal. Once this referral form is complete, we can set up a new patient appointment for your animal.
Direct your doctor here to fill it out themselves or you can print a paper version from the link further down this page.
We will need some information prior to your animals first visit in order to formulate the best plan of action of health for your animal. Please fill out the new patient intake form before meeting with Dr. Brittany if possible.
At your first visit, Dr. Brittany will explain the science behind how chiropractic care works and will do a full evaluation to see where the problem areas are and to see if this is a good fit for your animal. If so, she will develop a plan of action that is specific to your animals condition and your health goals.
First, she will do a complete past and current health history evaluation to discuss your animals health related problems and concerns and to learn about their condition. She will then perform a complete examination to figure out the cause of the issue. This includes gait analysis, posture evaluation, range of motion testing, muscle tone palpation, and static and motion palpation of the spine and extremities to detect areas of joint restriction or areas of hypomobility (also called subluxations).
Your animal will be adjusted on their first visit according to the findings from their history evaluation and examination.
An adjustment is a high velocity (fast), low amplitude (small force) thrust to a specific joint that allows motion of that joint to free up nervous system interference.
The course of treatment for your animal will vary depending on the presenting conditions and findings of your animal as well as your goals for treatment.
A 24 hour notice is required to cancel your animals new patient appointment.
